Albert Dager 33118235 E Co, 2nd Bn, 509th PIR, Hometwon: Ambler, PA, Participated in Operation TORCH the airborne invasion of Oran, North Africa, Plane: 3 Seat: 12 Combat Weight: 243 lbs. Their aircraft flew the entire route finding all checkpoints. Once near the airfield they received anti-aircraft fire. They turned around and headed back out over the dry lake bed where they were forced to land by Vichy French fighters shooting up their aircraft. They were picked up by another aircraft later and flown in to the airfield after it had been secured.
