SUMMARY OF SERVICE:
Corporal Dustin Ross Donica of Spring, Texas was born on July 11, 1984 in Houston, Texas. He graduated from Klein High School in 2002 and attended the University of Texas at Austin majoring in engineering prior to joining the Army on December 30, 2003. Upon entrance into the United States Army, CPL Donica was immediately assigned to Alpha Company, 30th AG BN, ITB, Fort Benning, Georgia. After completing training at the ITB and Basic Airborne School in May 2004, CPL Donica was assigned to D Company, Special Troops Unit at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. In April 2005 CPL Donica arrived at Fort Richardson, Alaska where he was assigned to Able Company, 3rd Battalion, 509th Infantry (Airborne) and deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom in October 2006. He is a graduate of Combatives Level 1, and Basic Airborne School.
CPL Donica is survived by his mother Judy, and father David, and sister Courtney.
Spc. Dustin R. Donica, 22, of Spring, Texas, was killed Thursday by small arms fire in Baghdad, the Defense Department said. Donica was assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 509th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 4th Airborne Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division.
